Promoted Generation of T Helper 1-Like Regulatory T Cells After Transient Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion in Type-2 Diabetic Mice
CONCLUSION: The generation of Th1-like Tregs was promoted in the brains of type 2 diabetic mice after stroke. Our study reveals significant Treg plasticity in diabetic stroke.Abbreviations: Foxp3: forkhead box P3; IFN-γ: interferon-γ; IL-10: interleukin-10; IL-12: interleukin-12; MCAO: middle cerebral artery occlusion; PBS: phosphate-buffered saline; STAT1: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 1; STAT5: Signal transducer and activator of transcription 1; T-bet: T-box expressed in T cells; TGF-β: transforming growth factor-β; Th1: T helper 1; TNF-α: tumor necrosis factor-α; Tregs: regulatory T cells. Muscone promotes functional recovery by facilitating microglia polarization into M2 phenotype through PPAR- γ pathway after ischemic stroke
Cell Immunol. 2023 Mar 5;386:104704. doi: 10.1016/j.cellimm.2023.104704. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTExploring regimens to facilitate microglia transformation from M1 to M2 phenotype is a feasible strategy to suppress neuroinflammation, therefore reinforcing functional recovery after ischemic stroke. Muscone easily crosses the blood brain barrier (BBB) and distributes throughout the brain. Here, the results illustrated the administration of 8 mg/kg muscone promoted functional recovery through reducing the infarct volume by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining after ischemic stroke in mice. Then, the express...

Systematic analysis of brain and skull ischemic injury expression profiles reveals associations of the tumor immune microenvironment and cell death with ischemic stroke
ConclusionThis systematic analysis not only helps in the understanding of the changes in the gene expression profiles of both the brain and skull with ischemic injury but also reveals the association of the tumor immune microenvironment and cell death with ischemic stroke.

Neuroprotective effect of alpha-kinase 1 knockdown against cerebral ischemia through inhibition of the NF- κB pathway and neuroinflammation
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that ALPK1 is implicated in sterile inflammatory injury after acute brain ischemia, which provides first evidence for the therapeutic potential of ALPK1 inhibition in ischemic stroke.PMID:36274483 | DOI:10.1016/j.intimp.2022.109330
