The effects of human amnion membrane-derived mesenchymal stem cells conditioned medium on ionizing radiation-induced premature ovarian failure and endoplasmic reticulum stress-related apoptosis mechanism
CONCLUSION: The application of hAMSCs-CM has been found to have a positive impact on follicles affected by radiation. After treatment, the number of primordial, primary, secondary, and graafian follicles, which had previously decreased due to radiation, showed an increase. Furthermore, the number of atretic follicles, which had been increasing due to radiation, showed a decrease. ER is one of the targets affected by ionizing radiation. After ionizing radiation, the expressions of ER stress-related markers and apoptosis markers increased in the ovary. After hAMSCs-CM administration, the expressions of these markers and numb...

The Application of 18F-FES PET in Clinical Cancer Care: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSIONS: [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is not only a convenient and accurate diagnostic imaging tool for detecting ER-expressing lesions in patients with breast and ovarian cancer but also among patients with uterine cancer. [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is a noninvasive predictive and monitoring tool for treatment response and prognosis.PMID:37482660 | DOI:10.1097/RLU.0000000000004760

Paternal genetic effects of cadmium exposure during pregnancy on hormone synthesis disorders in ovarian granulosa cells of offspring
In this study, altered serum E2 and Pg levels in both F2 and F3 generations showed a nonmonotonic dose‒response relationship. In addition, hormone synthesis-related genes (Star, Cyp11a1, Cyp17a1, Cyp19a1, Sf-1) and miRNAs were observed to be altered in both F2 and F3. No differential changes in DNA methylation modifications of hormone synthesis-related genes were observed, and only the Adcy7 was hypomethylated. In summary, paternal genetic intergenerational and transgenerational effects exist in ovarian GCs E2 and Pg synthesis disorders induced by Cd during pregnancy. In F2, the upregulation of StAR and CYP11A1, and chan...

Adipose-derived stem cells promote the repair of chemotherapy-induced premature ovarian failure by inhibiting granulosa cells apoptosis and senescence
CONCLUSION: Our experiment demonstrated that a single injection of high-dose CTX was a less damaging chemotherapeutic strategy than continuous injection of low-dose CTX, and tail-vein injection of ADSCs was a potential approach to promote the restoration of CTX-induced POF.PMID:37038203 | DOI:10.1186/s13287-023-03297-5

In-vivo oogenesis of oogonial and mesenchymal stem cells seeded in transplanted ovarian extracellular matrix
CONCLUSION: Integration of OSCs + PMSCs and those OSCs + BMSCs were more conducive to oogenesis.PMID:36941728 | DOI:10.1186/s13048-023-01131-3

Letrozole increases preantral follicle growth and decreases estradiol production without impairing follicle survival
CONCLUSIONS: Letrozole may promote follicle development by increasing the expression of FSHR. Letrozole may be useful for fertility preservation of patients with estrogen-dependent cancers such as breast cancer and various other cancers. Whether letrozole has a direct effect in reducing OHSS requires further investigation.PMID:36564850 | DOI:10.1186/s13048-022-01073-2

Measurable Serum Estradiol and Estrone in Women 36-56 Years During Adjuvant Treatment With Aromatase Inhibitors for a Hormone Receptor-Positive Breast Cancer. Case Studies and Cross-sectional Study Using an Ultra-sensitive LC-MS/MS-Method
CONCLUSION: Breast cancer patients aged 36 to56 years need to be monitored closely during adjuvant treatment with aromatase inhibitors: to confirm menopausal status, to evaluate compliance and to ensure ovarian activity remains adequately suppressed. Estrone might be a better marker then estradiol to detect ovarian reactivation.PMID:36376236 | DOI:10.1016/j.clbc.2022.09.007

IVF characteristics and the molecular luteal features of random start IVF cycles are not different from conventional cycles in cancer patients
Hum Reprod. 2022 Nov 11:deac242. doi: 10.1093/humrep/deac242. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSTUDY QUESTION: Are the IVF parameters and the steroidogenic luteal characteristics of random-start IVF cycles different from conventional cycles in cancer patients?SUMMARY ANSWER: No; controlled ovarian stimulation cycles randomly started at late follicular phase (LFP) and luteal phase (LP) are totally comparable to those conventional IVF cycles started at early follicular phase (EFP) in terms of the expression of the enzymes involved in cholesterol utilization and steroid hormone biosynthesis pathways, gonadotropin receptor expres...

Efficacy and Clinical Significance of the Zuogui Pill on Premature Ovarian Failure via the GDF-9/Smad2 Pathway
Nutr Cancer. 2022 Oct 4:1-10. doi: 10.1080/01635581.2022.2123531. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOur study aims to investigate the efficacy and clinical significance of the Zuogui pill (ZGP) on premature ovarian failure (POF) via the GDF-9/Smad2 pathway. Changes in clinical symptoms in the control group (treated with Femoston alone) and the treatment group (treated with ZGP combined with Femoston) were assessed before and after treatment. Sex hormone levels, serum inflammatory cytokine levels, and ultrasound parameters were measured before and after treatment. POF rat models were established using cyclophosphamide and the P...
