Endoscopic Ultrasonography-Guided Fine-Needle Aspiration for Duodenal Subepithelial Lesions Showing a Hypoechoic Mass on Endoscopic Ultrasound Imaging
CONCLUSIONS: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration for duodenal subepithelial lesions with hypoechoic mass was safe and accurate. As duodenal subepithelial lesion with hypoechoic mass has a reasonably high possibility of containing malignant tumors, it is desirable to perform endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration.PMID:37681269 | DOI:10.5152/tjg.2023.22696

Cytology of Castleman's disease (hyaline-vascular type) masquerading as Hodgkin's lymphoma
Am J Blood Res. 2022 Dec 15;12(6):196-200. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTCastleman disease (CD) is a rare benign disorder presents as a lymph nodal mass in mediastinum, cervical, axillary or abdomen. Due to the presence of dysplastic dendritic cell in a background mature lymphocyte and plasma cell, it mimics Hodgkin disease (HD). Synchronous and metachronous occurrence in HD and CD can also occur. An 11-year-old male presented with cervical lymphadenopathy (3.5 × 3.5 cm). Fine needle aspiration shows atypical binucleate cell in a background of small lymphocytes, a diagnosis of Hodgkin disease is suggested. Excisional biopsy sh...

Effectiveness of core needle biopsy in the diagnosis of thyroid lymphoma and anaplastic thyroid carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsImmediately performing CNB for a suspected diagnosis of ATC and TL in a rapidly enlarging thyroid mass is more appropriate and straightforward than a stepped diagnostic pathway using FNA first and awaiting the result before doing CNB.

Endobronchial Ultrasound-Guided Transbronchial Forceps Biopsy: A Retrospective Bicentric Study Using the Olympus 1.5 mm Mini-Forceps
J Clin Med. 2022 Aug 11;11(16):4700. doi: 10.3390/jcm11164700.ABSTRACTWhen evaluating mediastinal/hilar lymphadenopathy (LAD) or masses, guidelines recommend endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) as an initial technique for tissue analysis and diagnosis. However, owing to the small sample size obtained by needle aspiration, its diagnostic yield (DY) is limited. EBUS transbronchial forceps biopsy (TBFB) used as a complimentary technique to EBUS-TBNA might allow for better histopathological evaluation, thus improving DY. In this retrospective bicentric study, we assessed the DY and sa...

Correlation of fine needle aspiration cytology and cell block study of category III, IV, and V (TBSRTC-2017) thyroid lesions with special reference to cytokeratin-19 immunohistochemical staining
CONCLUSION: Role of CK19 in distinguishing papillary carcinoma of thyroid from other lesions in cytologically diagnosed Category III, IV, and V (TBSRTC-2017) cases can be demonstrated.PMID:35900492 | DOI:10.4103/ijpm.ijpm_1037_21
