The prognostic significance of a negative PSMA-PET scan prior to salvage radiotherapy following radical prostatectomy
CONCLUSION: Favorable bRFS after SRT in patients with BR and negative PSMA-PET following RP was achieved. These data support the usage of early SRT for patients with negative PSMA-PET findings.PMID:37736808 | DOI:10.1007/s00259-023-06438-3

Comparison of Health-Related Quality of Life Changes in Prostate Cancer Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic versus Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy: A Systematic review
CONCLUSION: Both robotic-assisted and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy are valid treatment options to achieve a good quality of life following surgery. The intermediate and long-term results in regard to QoL are comparable between the two procedures. RALRP might be superior to LRP in terms of immediate health-related quality of life, which might contribute to early recovery of urinary function.PMID:37727913 | DOI:10.22037/uj.v20i.7707

In-Hospital Venous Thromboembolism and Pulmonary Embolism After Major Urologic Cancer Surgery
CONCLUSIONS: RC, RN, and PN predisposes to a higher VTE and PE rates than RP. Moreover, among RC and RN patients with either VTE or PE, mortality is substantially higher than among their VTE or PE-free counterparts.PMID:37721691 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-14246-0

Prehabilitative versus rehabilitative exercise in prostate cancer patients undergoing prostatectomy
CONCLUSION: Pre-surgical exercise enhanced strength and function, protecting against post-surgery declines. Although exercise post-surgery is beneficial for recouping strength and function, where possible men undergoing prostatectomy are encouraged to exercise pre-surgery.TRIAL REGISTRATION: ACTRN12617001115325 registered 31 July 2017.PMID:37712960 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-023-05409-3

Patient-reported outcome measures compared to clinician reported outcomes regarding incontinence and erectile dysfunction in localized prostate carcinoma after robot assisted radical prostatectomy: Impact on management
CONCLUSIONS: This is to our knowledge the first study that compared the PROs with clinician reported functional outcomes and the impact of discrepancies on the management of side effects of RARP in prostate cancer. Observed discrepancies between the PROs and CROs did not affect offered management and counseling of UI and ED.PMID:37690935 | DOI:10.1016/j.urolonc.2023.08.001

Clinical Significance of Radical Prostatectomy in Clinical Lymph Node Metastasis in Prostate Cancer
CONCLUSION: Radical prostatectomy can confirm lymph node metastasis. Although pathologic diagnosis has no effect on time to BCR and CPRC, because it affects BCR rate, CRPC rate, and CSS, an accurate pathological diagnosis obtained through surgery is beneficial in the treatment of clinical lymph node metastasis prostate cancer.PMID:37689608 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-023-14137-4

68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT in a Case of Isolated Parietal Peritoneal Metastasis From Prostate Adenocarcinoma
We present 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT findings in a case of isolated parietal peritoneal metastasis from prostate adenocarcinoma 35 months after radical prostatectomy. The peritoneal metastases showed multifocal intense PSMA uptake, but subtle structural abnormalities on 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT. The patient was subsequently treated with androgen deprivation therapy. The peritoneal metastases progressed 25 months after the initiation of androgen deprivation therapy and were removed surgically. Histologic and immunohistochemical evaluation revealed metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma with treatment-related neuroendocrine differentiation...
