Association between plasma Vitamin B5 levels and all-cause mortality: A nested case-control study
This study suggests that higher baseline levels of plasma vitamin B5 are a risk factor for all-cause mortality among Chinese patients with hypertension, especially among older adults and those with adequate folate levels. Vitamin and Mineral Supplements for Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease and Cancer
To the Editor A recent recommendation of the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) concluded that there is no convincing evidence that vitamin supplements are beneficial for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer. However, we would like to highlight an important exception: B vitamins used to lower homocysteine levels do prevent stroke.

An Evidence-Based Review of Vitamin D for Common and High-Mortality Conditions
Conclusion: Prospective studies of vitamin D supplementation demonstrate variable impact on disease specific and patient-oriented outcomes, suggesting a correlation but not a causal relationship between low vitamin D levels and disease pathogenicity. Future research should determine dosing standards and timing of vitamin D in treatment and prevention.
