Left epigastric isolated tumor fed by the inferior phrenic artery diagnosed as ectopic hepatocellular carcinoma: A case report
CONCLUSION: This asymptomatic ectopic HCC case described achieved an excellent result due to early detection, radical resection, and systematic surveillance.PMID:37731571 | PMC:PMC10507550 | DOI:10.12998/wjcc.v11.i26.6231

Presentation of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor, Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma, and Gastric Adenocarcinoma in a Woman With No Identifiable Genetic Abnormalities
This report details the first known case of co-occurrence of gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST), pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and gastric adenocarcinoma in an individual with no identifiable genetic abnormalities. The patient is a 57-year-old female who presented with abdominal pain. CT scan demonstrated a pancreatic mass, and endoscopic ultrasound demonstrated an additional gastric mass. Biopsy of both masses demonstrated adenocarcinoma; however, the masses were found to have different origins. The patient underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy with excellent response. She then underwent surgical intervention, which demonstr...

Dose comparison of robustly optimized intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT) vs IMRT and VMAT photon plans for testicular seminoma
CONCLUSION: Proton therapy reduced radiation dose to OAR compared to both IMRT and VMAT plans, and potentially reduce the risk of secondary cancer both overall and for most OAR.PMID:37683054 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2254925

Application of temperature-sensitive liquid embolic agent loaded with oxaliplatin in the TACE procedure for rabbit VX2 gastric cancer
In conclusion, the TempSLE can load a high dose of oxaliplatin to meet the demand of clinical applications. TempSLE/Oxa could effectively inhibit tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis. This study provides experimental evidence for the further clinical application of the TempSLE/Oxa.PMID:37668861 | DOI:10.1007/s13346-023-01425-5

Preclinical evaluation of a dual-receptor targeted tracer < sup > 68 < /sup > GaGa-HX01 in 10 different subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor models
CONCLUSIONS: [68Ga]Ga-HX01, as a dual target imaging agent, exhibited superior in vivo performance in different subcutaneous and orthotopic mice models of human tumors over [18F]FDG and its respectively mono-receptor targeted agents, which warrants the future clinical translation for tumor imaging.PMID:37642706 | DOI:10.1007/s00259-023-06412-z

Nodular Pulmonary Amyloidosis Preceding Gastric Mucosa-associated Lymphoid Tissue Lymphoma, Initially Suspected to Be Lung Cancer
In this report, we describe a case of a 76-year-old male who presented with a solitary nodule in his left lower lung lobe on computed tomography that increased from 6 mm to 13 mm in diameter over 40 months. Lung cancer was suspected; however, transbronchial lung biopsy revealed deposition of an eosinophilic and homogeneous amorphous substance, which showed apple-green birefringence under polarized light after Congo red staining, and immunohistochemistry analysis returned positive results for immunoglobulin lambda light-chain. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymph...

A Case of Locally Advanced, Unresectable Pancreatic Cancer with Superior Mesenteric Artery Invasion Treated with FOLFIRINOX plus Radiation Therapy, followed by Conversion Surgery
We report a case of a woman in her 70s who underwent conversion surgery after FOLFIRINOX, followed by radiation therapy for initially locally advanced unresectable pancreatic cancer. She visited her local doctor with a chief complaint of upper abdominal pain. Contrast-enhanced CT scan of the abdomen revealed an irregular mass invading the superior mesenteric artery, and the first and second jejunal arteries(>180°)in the pancreatic uncinate region. Based on imaging, she was diagnosed as UR-LA(sm), cT4N0M0, cStage Ⅲ pancreatic cancer, and underwent 5 courses of modified FOLFIRINOX. Radiation therapy of 50.4 Gy was adde...

Pre-existing Interstitial Lung Abnormalities and Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Related Pneumonitis in Solid Tumors: A Retrospective Analysis
CONCLUSION: This retrospective study did not demonstrate statistically significant association between pre-existing ILA and ICI-related pneumonitis, nor an association between radiologic features of ILA and ICI-related pneumonitis. Smoking history was independently associated with ICI-related pneumonitis. Further research is warranted for further understanding of the risk factors of ICI-related pneumonitis.PMID:37590388 | DOI:10.1093/oncolo/oyad187

A prospective Canadian gastroesophageal cancer database: What have we learned?
CONCLUSION: Many of the patients with GEA in this study presented with advanced disease, and only 61% were offered curative-intent surgery. A prospective multicentre national GEA database is now being established.PMID:37553256 | DOI:10.1503/cjs.005122
