Does 1-year medical LOA affect psychiatry residency match?
Hello,
I am currently an M2 in an MD program that's been recently struggling academically due to some mental health issues. I've had to take about ~6 weeks of time for myself to work through my issues, which I think are being better managed now (i.e. some med changes, weekly therapy, etc). However, this time has cost me a lot in terms of feeling prepared for my clerkships/shelf exams.

How do I not be a cookie cutter
My biggest pre-med fear is if the ECs I have been doing are viewed as nothing but “box-checking” by Adcoms.
I have been trying for 4 months now, but it is ridiculously hard to get a foot into things that both interest me and are viewed as interesting by Adcoms.
Labs that do interesting medical research only work with upper undergraduate students, Hurricane Ian volunteer relief group are a 2 hour drive from me, all my hobbies are unremarkable and not genuine talents

I am a non-US IMG who is now preparing for 2022 SOAP. Could I ask you some questions about SOAP? My credentials: step 1 240 step 2 230 OET passed, ECFMG certified, 4 LOR. 3 months clinical observership.
I applied to 331 IM programs and got no interviews. My YOG was 2009. I was out of clinical practice for 7 years and was doing medical research in these 7 years. Anyway, no matter how hard I explained to PDs by email. No one offered me any interview invitations...
