Clinical hours for CLS rotation
So, right now I am majoring in clinical laboratory sciences. The program requires clinical rotations in a laboratory setting. Would this experience count as some type of clinical experience for medical school? I keep hearing conflicting answers from pre-med counselors, and the internet. During this clinical rotation, we learn how to analyze patient samples in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology. We even have a phlebotomy rotation. Can anyone that majored in or is... EC ’s
so I may have the opportunity to work as an autopsy attendant. Working directly under a pathologist and it is very hands on and a great opportunity. Took a certificate that has a histology course that allows me to work in a histology department as a medical lab assistant. Although i will be certified as a medical lab assistant (phlebotomy, ECG’s, lab work), do you guys think that working as a autopsy attendant will be a better experience? My instructor mentioned that I should do this as it... EC’s (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Any ideas for foreign medical graduate in USA?
Hello, I am a foreign (international) medical graduate. I was a General Physician and also did my specialization/residency on Anesthesiology in Albania. I worked as an Anesthesiologist and General Physician for over 20 years in the largest hospital of Albania. In US so far, I've worked as phlebotomist and anesthesia technician. In the US, what are some of other options for a job based on my experiences that will not require me to go through program/school again? Thanks in advance for all... I didn't like my clinical experience job
Hello everyone, so last summer I took phlebotomy classes so I can get a job that would pay me and give me direct patient contact. However, after doing the internship at a local lab, I found myself to be mentally and emotionally drained from this experience of drawing 40+ people a day. It was very tiring for me maybe because Im usually more of a introverted person but I think took this negative experience the wrong way. I thought that since I couldn't even handle doing something simple like... I didn't like my clinical experience job (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non-Traditional Post-Bacc student - Pharmacy Tech or Plasma Phlebotomist?
I finished college in 2012 with B.S. Biology/Pre-Med. For 5 years I was a strength & conditioning/nutrition coach in minor league professional baseball for the Angels, Rays, and Rangers organizations. I am applying to medical school for 2019 entry. I received two job offers: a Phlebotomist at a Plasma Donation Center (30-40 sticks per day for me) or a pharmacy tech at a major food store called Hyvee (its upscale and high volume corporate pharmacy). The Pharmacy pays more money for bills,... Non-Traditional Post-Bacc student - Pharmacy Tech or Plasma Phlebotomist? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Phlebotomy scare- is this normal?
Just started a Phlebotomy class, it was exciting and fun, but there was a bit of downside. I was scared to puncture or get skin punctured by other students. Is this normal or am I just too weak? Although I did carry out the skin puncture, and able to do more afterwards, but damn, I was very nervous that I was going to mess up the procedure. Other people were able to carryout venipunctures/skin punctures without feeling scared. Also, there was a guy who started on the same day with me and he... Phlebotomy scare- is this normal? Medical transcriptionist vs. scribe
Hey Everyone! So I'm about to be applying to med school and have a lot on my plate. I am currently a medical scribe/phlebotomist and I am taking a lot of credits next term not to mention I volunteer and do research. I was recently offered a transcription job and it sounds really nice. I can work flexible hours and the pay rate is the same. Does anyone have experience with this? Will it look bad if I quit scribing and go into transcription? I just want to be sure I get the best grades... MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST VS. SCRIBE (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MLT interested in Medical School
I am currently working as an MLT and am interested in going to medical school. I graduated with a sGPA 3.3 with an internship at a genetics clinic doing lab work. I had 72 hours of clinical experience in 2015-2016 in phlebotomy and bone marrow extractions. I currently work full time, but am... MLT interested in Medical School (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I'm a nontraditional applicant. I graduated around 2012 with a sGPA of 3.3 with an internship at a genetics clinic under my belt. I did 30-40 clinic hours at a pharmacy the same year as I applied to several MT/MLT programs. I received an associates in laboratory technology along with 72 hours of further clinical experience in phlebotomy and bone marrow extractions in 2015-2016. I work full time as a certified MLT in a large hospital. I am attempting to complete another 30-40 clinic hours at... sGPA 3.3/MLT/ Nontrad (Source: Student Doctor Network)
