What counts as clinical experience?
Hi, would volunteering as a visual interpreter for individuals with visual impairments count as some sort of clinical experience or community volunteering? It provides direct care as I interact with the users and help them with anything they may need in their day to day, although it is virtual, it provides direct engagement. Also, does anyone know what the best way to get trained as a phlebotomist or medical assistant is? I want to do it over the summer, but I can't seem to find any courses. Need advice for Phlebotomy training
Is the training doable before taking Anatomy or is it a requirement ? Also is the program easy enough to complete during school or should I take it this summer ? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

When to post Update Letters?
I applied to Texas medical schools (I'm OOS w/ strong ties) end of May and submitted secondaries by mid-June. My application was marked complete mid-July. I had Stats in progress when applying, but I have since completed the course receiving an A. I also got an A in Genetics (also IP at the time of application) and will be a certified Phlebotomist by spring 2024. For schools that allow updates, is it worth sending an update letter? Thanks, Loraine (Source: Student Doctor Network)
