Peer Support Specialist - Clinical?
I have two opportunities presented for paid work of an at least semi-clinical nature. First, phlebotomy. Typical hospital-based role afterward. This is pretty straightforwardly clinical and seems like a generally useful skill to have in your back pocket if needed. 🤷‍♂️ This will accrue me more raw hours because 12 hour shifts. Second, the opportunity I'm more interested in but less sure is clinical, peer support specialist. Essentially a certificate level psychological support person from... Should I reapply this cycle?
Last cycle I applied to 20 MD schools and 3 DO schools. I got waitlisted at 1 DO school. I think the major issue with my application that cycle was that I applied around October. Right now my stats are cGPA 3.37 / sGPA 3.35 / MCAT 500 . In summary I've had: leadership position in college, used to scribe, currently a phlebotomist, used to CNA, lots of community volunteering and local free health clinic volunteering, Spanish translating (I am a URM). I was getting ready to take the MCAT... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
