N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptor Encephalitis, Post Herpes Encephalitis in Two Pediatric Cases
This study presents two cases of patients suffering from anti-NMDAR encephalitis that appeared after treatment for proven HSV encephalitis. The first patient was treated immediately after the presentation as autoimmune encephalitis and had an excellent outcome. The second patient had delayed initiation of treatment and suffered from intractable epilepsy and severe global developmental delay. An important role is played by recognizing anti-NMDAR encephalitis symptoms and its variable presentation for timely diagnosis and quick initiation of treatment for anti-NMDAR encephalitis, thus, improving the outcome for those patient...

Gestational weight gain and its association with maternal and neonatal outcomes among pregnant women with normal pre-pregnancy body mass index from a Middle Eastern country
CONCLUSION AND IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Our study found that inappropriate gestational weight gain (GWG) contributes to several adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. We recommend that Ministries of Health in Middle East and North Africa area includes GWG as a risk factor for pregnancy-related adverse outcomes. Midwives should closely monitor and manage GWG to ensure optimal pregnancy outcomes. In addition, midwives should encourage mothers to maintain GWG within the recommended range using various strategies such as continuous counselling and motivational health promotion interventions.PMID:38262216 | DOI:10.1016/j.mid...

CONCLUSION: Despite certain global indicators suggesting a leveling off or decrease, it's clear that depressive disorders continue to be a significant and increasing issue, particularly among women, teenagers, and young adults. Differences between regions and countries indicate that specific interventions aimed at addressing economic inequalities, improving healthcare systems, and taking cultural factors into account could make a real difference in lessening the burden of depressive disorders. More research is needed to understand what's driving these trends so that we can develop better strategies for preventing and manag...
