Susceptibility of nursery teachers to measles, rubella, varicella and mumps in Japan
CONCLUSION: The survey revealed that measles and rubella susceptibility was higher among respondents in their 30 s. However, it was higher for varicella and mumps among respondents in their 20 s.PMID:37743115 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.09.028 (Source: Vaccine)

Real-world challenges in eligibility for MMR vaccination two years after autologous and allogeneic HSCT
Vaccine. 2023 Aug 29:S0264-410X(23)00778-8. doi: 10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.06.075. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMeasles outbreaks have raised concerns of fatal infections in immunocompromised patients. Canadian guidelines advise administration of live vaccines, such as measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR), two yearsafter hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) yet studies have not assessed eligibility based on medication contraindications. We retrospectively reviewed the charts of 72 autologous (auto-HSCT) and 68 allogeneic (allo-HSCT) recipients at the Windsor Regional Cancer Center to determine MMR reactivity and eligibilit...

Intralesional measles, mumps and rubella vaccine versus formic acid puncture in the treatment of common warts: A prospective randomised study
Conclusions: Immunotherapy by intralesional MMR vaccine is a simple, well-tolerated, effective and cost–benefit modality for the treatment of warts and showed a statistically significant cure rate than formic acid therapy. (Source: Indian Journal of Dermatology)

Mumps vaccine hesitancy: Current evidence and an evidence-based campaign in Japan
CONCLUSION: Our study showed several sociodemographic factors significantly associated with mumps vaccination. Further research is needed to examine the relevance of our findings to the uptake of other voluntary vaccines among children.PMID:37640569 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.045 (Source: Vaccine)

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4304: Anticancer Activity of Measles & ndash;Mumps & ndash;Rubella MMR Vaccine Viruses against Glioblastoma
Conclusion: Herein the reported results demonstrate the anti-cancer activity of the MMR vaccine against GBM cells. Accordingly, the MMR vaccine warrants further study as a potential new tool for GBM therapy and relapse prevention. Therapeutic potential of the MMR vaccine has been found to be promising in earlier studies as well. (Source: Cancers)

Viruses, Vol. 15, Pages 1782: Efficacy of Rubella Vaccination after Co-Inoculation with Rhogam
In conclusion, no differences were observed in rubella immunity status in subsequent pregnancies in those mothers given both the MMR vaccine and Rhogam concurrently. Given these findings, warnings against co-administration of vaccines in combination with Rhogam appear unwarranted. (Source: Viruses)

Oculomotor nerve palsy in a 10-year-old boy after vaccination with biontech (pfizer) against covid19 - a case report
Oculomotor nerve palsy has been linked to infections, trauma, tumors, aneurysms and other conditions. Oculomotor, trochlear and abducens nerve palsies have been described after vaccination (1). The majority of these cases are reported after Influenza and Measles-Mumps-Rubella vaccines (1). (Source: Pediatric Neurology)

Timeliness of childhood vaccination in England: A population-based cohort study
We described vaccine uptake for representative antigens (pertussis, pneumococcus, measles) by age in days and stratified by ethnicity, region and birth cohort. Alluvial diagrams were used to illustrate common journeys through the vaccination schedule, and we applied survival analysis using accelerated failure time models (AFT) to predict age of vaccine receipt based on timing of previous doses.RESULTS: 573,015 children were followed up until their fifth birthday, when they had 90.16 % coverage for two doses of measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine and 88.78% coverage for four doses of diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP) v...

Direct and crowding-out effects of a Hepatitis B vaccination campaign
Econ Hum Biol. 2023 Jul 23;51:101279. doi: 10.1016/j.ehb.2023.101279. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWe evaluate the direct and spillover causal effects of a Hepatitis B (HB) vaccination campaign in French schools on the vaccination adherence of the targeted pupils. Using a regression discontinuity design, we show that this campaign created an exogenous shock on vaccination behavior, increasing the HB vaccination rate for children aged 11 and above. At the same time, we show a drop in the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination rate of the targeted pupils and an increase in the parental belief that measles is a benign...
