Post-Cambrian survival of the tubicolous scalidophoran < em > Selkirkia < /em >
Biol Lett. 2024 Mar;20(3):20240042. doi: 10.1098/rsbl.2024.0042. Epub 2024 Mar 27.ABSTRACTScalidophoran worms represent common infaunal components of early and middle Cambrian Burgess Shale-type fossil biotas. Early scalidophorans resemble extant priapulids based on overall morphology, but the genus Selkirkia represents the earliest record of tube dwelling for the group. Despite its ubiquitous presence in exceptional marine deposits, whether the exclusively Cambrian occurrence of Selkirkia reflects its entire evolutionary history or is affected by taphonomic biases remains unresolved. Here, we demonstrate the post-Cambrian...

Functional size measurement of postnatal care apps: Morocco case study
This study empirically evaluates the functionality coverage of 18 mobile applications (apps) for Postnatal care including a recently developed app in Morocco "Mamma&Baby". This evaluation is based on a comparison of the COSMIC _ISO 19,761 functional size of these apps with the score obtained in a previous evaluation based on functions extraction through a quality assessment questionnaire. This comparison allows to discuss the relationship between the functional size of the 18 apps, their users' ratings in the Play Store as well as the number of downloads. While for most of the assessed apps, there is only a small shift...

Contribution to the characterization of the seed endophyte microbiome of Argania spinosa across geographical locations in Central Morocco using metagenomic approaches
In conclusion, this first exploration of the argan seed endophyte microbiome demonstrated environmental influence on community structure. While facing limitations due to small sample sizes and lack of ecological metadata, it provides a foundation for future mechanistic investigations into how specific endophyte–host interactions shape argan adaptation across Morocco’s diverse landscapes. Ethnic variations in metabolic syndrome components and their associations with the gut microbiota: the HELIUS study
ConclusionsThe occurrence of MetS characteristics among ethnicities is heterogeneous. Both ethnic-independent and ethnic-specific associations were identified between the gut microbiota and MetS outcomes. Across multiple ethnicities, a one-size-fits-all approach may thus be reconsidered in regard to both the definition and/or treatment of MetS and its relation to the gut microbiota.
