Knowledge, attitudes and practices of Moroccan cancer patients and their relatives towards the COVID-19 pandemic
Conclusions: Although the level of knowledge and practices of cancer patients and relatives was very satisfying, disparities between the two groups were still to be noted. Cancer patients go out less and practice more, despite the impact of confinement on their health. (Source: African Health Sciences)

The chemical composition of the aerial parts essential oils of four < em > Andryala < /em > species (Asteraceae) growing wild in Morocco
Nat Prod Res. 2023 Dec 24:1-8. doi: 10.1080/14786419.2023.2297404. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAndryala (Asteraceae: Cichorieae) is a little-known Mediterranean-Macaronesian genus whose taxonomy is very much in need of revision. In the present study, the chemical composition of the essential oils (EOs) from aerial parts of as many Andryala species, A. integrifolia, A. cossyrensis, and A. rothia, never studied before, and of A. pinnatifida subsp. mogadorensis, all collected in Morocco, was evaluated by GC-MS. The main components of the EOs of A. integrifolia and A. pinnatifida subsp. mogadorensis were organic acid compoun...

Post-mortem 'soft flesh' in three commercial fish species from off Atlantic Morocco associated with the myxosporean parasites Kudoa thyrsites and K. encrasicoli (Myxozoa)
In this study, we investigated Kudoa-induced 'soft flesh' occurrence in European anchovy Engraulis encrasicolus, European pilchard Sardina pilchardus, and Atlantic chub mackerel Scomber colias caught in 2019 off the Moroccan Atlantic coast. Five hundred specimens of each fish species were examined for 'soft flesh' by texture testing and visual inspection 48 h post-catch. 'Soft flesh' occurred in 0.2 % of the European anchovies, 1.4 % of the European pilchard, and in 4.4 % of the Atlantic chub mackerel. Microscopic examination of muscle samples revealed that 'soft flesh'-affected fish were infected with myxospores of K. thy...
