Effects of abdominal binder on the development of incisional hernia in the long term: A prospective cohort study
ConclusionsThis study found that abdominal binder use after abdominal surgery had no effects on the development of incisional hernia in the long term. Data on abdominal binder use were self-reported by the patients. Better designed cohort studies on larger populations may be conducted in the future. This article is protected by copyright. Who needs a fine ‐needle biopsy? A comparison of the ATA and ACR TI‐RADS guidelines in a single‐centre retrospective study
AbstractThe 2015 American Thyroid Association (ATA) and 2017 American College of Radiology: Thyroid Imaging, Reporting and Data System (ACR TI-RADS) guidelines are two popular guidelines adopted to stratify sonographic risk of malignancy for thyroid nodules, and to select cases for fine-needle aspiration (FNA). To understand the test performance of the two systems in predicting thyroid malignancy, 164 thyroidectomy cases performed in a regional hospital in Hong Kong between January 2021 and June 2022 were reviewed. Sonographic images of the index nodule in each case were retrospectively classified into different risk categ...

Three ‐year Comparable Clinical Outcome for Trans‐Atlantic Inter‐Society Consensus (TASC) D Femoropopliteal Occlusion: Endovascular Vs Bypass Surgery
ConclusionEndovascular treatment for long and complex femoropopliteal occlusion is technically feasible with a high success rate. Close surveillance with prompt re-intervention may help achieve 3  years comparable patency of endovascular intervention to traditional surgical bypass. Individualized plan of revascularization should be considered. (Source: Surgical Practice)

A review on the use of steerable sheaths in complex endovascular aortic repair
AbstractComplex aortic aneurysms are now more commonly treated endovascularly, and often require a fenestrated or branched EVAR. The use of steerable sheaths can improve the technical success rate in catheterization of target visceral vessels and reduce the surgical risks associated with these complicated procedures. There are several commercially available steerable sheaths in the market, but similar devices can be homemade using different endovascular instruments. Steerable sheaths allow catheterization of downward orientated branches more easily through a transfemoral approach. The risks associated with a traditional up...
