Prog Urol. 2023 Sep 28:S1166-7087(23)00211-7. doi: 10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.008. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTContraceptive vasectomy is a male sterilization technique by interrupting the continuity of the vas deferens. The primary endpoint of our study was to evaluate patients' feelings of vasectomy under local anesthesia. We collected responses from 108 patients who had a vasectomy under local anesthesia at the Center Hospitalier Annecy Genevois between January 1, 2020 and April 30, 2022. The average age of patients at the time of the vasectomy was 40years old. Patients were satisfied with the level of information before...

Switching from the transrectal to the transperineal route: A single center experience
CONCLUSION: TPPBx under LA without antibioprophylaxis provides few complications, an acceptable pain threshold, and a satisfactorily rate of csPCa detection, even if performed by urologists with no previous experience of TPPBx.PMID:37777435 | DOI:10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.006 (Source: Progres en Urologie)

New protocol in the treatment of Peyronie's disease by combining platelet-rich plasma, percutaneous needle tunneling, and penile modeling: Preliminary results
CONCLUSION: Our preliminary experience suggests that PNT and PRP injections with PM are effective and safe for the treatment of penile deformity of PD.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 4: case series study.PMID:37777436 | DOI:10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.013 (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Oncological and functional results of focal treatment of localized prostate cancer with HIFU
CONCLUSION: Our results are in agreement with those of the literature, seeming to indicate a lower morbidity of the focal treatment by HIFU compared to the radical treatments while offering an acceptable oncological control. Prospective randomized trials are ongoing.PMID:37770359 | DOI:10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.012 (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy: Is smaller better for kidney stones in patients with neurogenic bladder?
CONCLUSION: The efficacy of mPCNL in patients with NLUTD was not different from other techniques, but a significantly lower rate of complications than sPCNL was observed.LEVEL OF PROOF: 3.PMID:37758606 | DOI:10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.009 (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Neutral posture education during cough can reduce urine leakage in women with cough-related stress urinary incontinence
CONCLUSION: This study suggests that a brief educational intervention focusing on neutral posture during cough, without voluntary pre-contraction of the PFMs, has no clinically significant influence on sEMG peak activity of the PFMs in women with cough-induced UI. However, this intervention can lead to a significant improvement in urinary symptoms and QoL at 6 weeks. These improvements seem to be independent of electromyographic PFMs peak activity recorded during cough. As such, our preliminary results pave the way for future research.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: NP4.PMID:37758607 | DOI:10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.002 (Source: Progres en Urologie)

Regular penis-root masturbation: A promising behavioral treatment method for lifelong premature ejaculation
CONCLUSION: PRM BT shows promise for lifelong PE patients who do not benefit from or discontinue to pharmacotherapy. Larger prospective trials are required to confirm these findings.PMID:37758608 | DOI:10.1016/j.purol.2023.09.010 (Source: Progres en Urologie)
