CONCLUSION: If long, the amoxicillin-clavulanic acid played a role of first order in the field of urology, the association has given way to other molecules because of the emergence of resistance. However, A-AC keeps indications in the field of antibiotic therapy in urinary tract infections, surgical antimicrobial prophylaxis and postoperative infections in urology. CONCLUSIONS: Epidemiology of stones has changed with an increased incidence in women, and nephrolithiasis patients getting older. A change in the type of stones is observed with increasing the proportion of mixed stones especially among women. CONCLUSION: The distribution of germs in our study is comparable to the literature, however, antibiotic resistance is higher in our study, which is probably a result of the inappropriate use of these drugs in our country, therefore it is important for us to create a good strategy to supply and distribute these drugs, as well as the review of the empirical treatment of UTI in our country. Radiation exposure of patient and surgeon in minimally invasive kidney stone surgery.
Authors: Demirci A, Raif Karabacak O, Yalçınkaya F, Yiğitbaşı O, Aktaş C Abstract OBJECTIVE: Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) are the standard treatments used in the endoscopic treatment of kidney stones depending on the location and the size of the stone. The purpose of the study was to show the radiation exposure difference between the minimally invasive techniques by synchronously measuring the amount of radiation the patients and the surgeon received in each session, which makes our study unique. Detrusor contractility in women: Influence of ageing and clinical conditions.
Authors: Valentini FA, Nelson PP, Zimmern PE, Robain G Abstract AIMS: We assume that the voiding process in women is governed by the detrusor contractility and a "urethral resistance". The value of these 2 parameters, respectively named k and U in the VBN (Valentini-Besson-Nelson) mathematical model of micturition is deduced from the VBN analysis of pressure-flow recordings (PFs). Our objectives were to search for a correlation between these 2 parameters and clinically relevant variables such as chief complaint, urodynamic diagnosis (UD), and age by decades. METHODS: PFs from 125 non-neurogenic women ...

[Can the urine dipstick be used in the diagnosis of urinary bacterial colonizations in a preoperative urological assessment?]
CONCLUSION: In spite of a good negative predictive value linked to a low prevalence of colonized patients (5%), the low sensitivity of the urine dipstick test entails a non-negligible number of false negatives.
