Health Care Experiences During Pregnancy and Parenting with an Opioid Use Disorder
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the experience of individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) during the perinatal period. Study Design and Methods: We convened focus groups of patients with OUD who had been pregnant and were parenting. Participants who were 18 and older, English-speaking, self-identified as pregnant or parenting, and actively using opioids or in recovery from OUD were recruited using snowball and convenience sampling in resident treatment facilities and outpatient settings. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between acculturative stress, perceived stress, social support, and postpartum depression (PPD) symptoms among immigrant Arab American couples. Unmet Prenatal Expectations During the COVID-19 Pandemic
This study offers insight for nurses and other clinicians taking care of pregnant women during times of public health crises and provides implications for the care of women as the pandemic continues. Nurses can help women plan for future health care changes that may disrupt their support needs as seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
