The purpose of this study was to explore the decision-making framework of women with CF to better understand the factors they consider when deciding on a path to motherhood. Study Design and Methods: Qualitative interviews were performed using a grounded theory approach. Inclusion criteria...

Identifying Obstetric Mistreatment Experiences in U.S. Birth Narratives: Application of Internationally Informed Mistreatment Typologies
This study applies these evidence-based domains of mistreatment as an a priori coding scheme for analysis of 96 oral narratives of U.S.-based births to describe the nature of perceived mistreatment using participants' own descriptions of experiences. Method: Ninety-six transcripts of oral birth stories from 61 participants were coded using the domains of mistreatment experiences described by the Bohren et al.'s (2015) systematic review of obstetric mistreatment. Results: N = 131 individual experiences of perceived obstetric mistreatment were identified in 41 out of 96 narratives (42.7%). The most frequent typ...

Herbal galactagogues are advertised and sold to women as capsules, cookies, milk shakes, and teas, as well as other forms of herbal supplements. Herbal galactagogues are classified as dietary supplements and not reviewed or regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. There are limited data on their safety and efficacy. Women experienci...
