The psychopathological repercussions on patients faced with pain: A focus on endometriosis
CONCLUSION: The consequences of the pain associated with endometriosis reveal multiple problems that can be considered from a new perspective. Although psychological disorders can be a response to pain phenomena they can also contribute to their increase. This is where the challenge lies in providing comprehensive care.PMID:37748984 | DOI:10.1016/j.encep.2023.06.019 (Source: L Encephale)

CSMD1 rs10503253 increases schizophrenia risk in a Tunisian population-group
CONCLUSION: The present finding confirms the previously reported association between the Cub and Sushi multiple Domain 1 rs10503253A allele and the risk to develop schizophrenia and identified the rs1270942 variant as a potential disease risk modifier. Such observations may be important for the definition of the susceptible immunogenetic background in North African individuals at risk to develop mental disorders.PMID:37748985 | DOI:10.1016/j.encep.2023.08.002 (Source: L Encephale)

COVID-19 crisis and the incidence of hospital admissions for psychosis in France
CONCLUSION: The COVID-19 crisis was associated with an increase in the number of inpatients with a new episode of psychosis in crisis centers but not in full-time hospitalization. The profile of patients in crisis centers was different from that seen in preceding years and included more middle-to-late age adults. Particular attention should be given to this category of patients in the crisis environment to prevent the occurrence of new cases of psychosis in France.PMID:37748986 | DOI:10.1016/j.encep.2023.08.003 (Source: L Encephale)
