Challenges of emergency evacuation of residential areas caused by chemical release due to the earthquake: a Natech event scenario
Conclusions: The emergency evacuation challenges were discussed in 4 viewpoints, disrupted or interrupted rescue and firefighting operation, unnecessary evacuation, frequent evacuation, and evacuation behavior. The measures such as revising and updating emergency evacuation maps; public informing, training, preparedness; providing protocols and training for operational and therapeutic response teams; and coordination improvement can help resilience increasing to such disasters. Conclusions: The prevalence of spousal DV was found to be high. Current alcohol consumption and controlling behavior of the husband were the important determinants of domestic violence. Business and property types experiencing excess violentcrime: a micro-spatial analysis
Conclusions: All property-types had outlier establishments experiencing elevated counts of violent crimes. Furthermore, the 25 most violent properties in the city demonstrated remarkable diversity in property-type. Predictors of swimming pool supervision for caregivers of toddlers
Conclusion: Results suggest that supervision behavior while toddlers are in a swimming pool may be inadequate. Low water safety knowledge and attitudes about what constitutes quality supervision are related to pool supervision behavior and changing these may reduce drowning risk. The mitigating effect of low firearm background check requirements on firearm homicides in border states
Conclusion: This study provides evidence that there may be a mitigating effect on the reduction of firearm homicides in states that require background checks or PTP on private sales when there is a state in close proximity that did not have these laws. Brain injuries: health care capacity and policy in Georgia
Conclusion: Even among the largest, most highly specialized hospitals in Georgia, TBI care varies in terms of diagnostic and treatment protocols. While TBI specialists are available, diagnostic equipment often is not.
