The Relationship Between Psychological Resilience and Pain Threshold and Tolerance: Optimism and Grit as Moderators
This study examined factors that may enhance the relationship between resilience and time to pain threshold and tolerance during experimentally induced pain among 62 healthy adults recruited from a student population. Specifically, dispositional optimism and psychological grit were examined as moderators of the relationship between resilience and pain outcomes. Correlates of Post-traumatic Growth Following a Myocardial Infarction: A Systematic Review
AbstractCorrelates of post-traumatic growth (PTG) have been examined in the area of health psychology previously, with much focus on aspects of personality, coping, and social support. This systematic review aimed to examine correlates of PTG for those who have experienced a myocardial infarction (MI). Studies which met inclusion criteria were assessed for quality and reviewed. Results showed an inconsistent strength of associations between studies and so conclusions cannot be drawn. Conducting a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial on a Medical Inpatient Unit Utilizing Cognitive Remediation Therapy for Adolescents with Restrictive Eating Disorders: Protocol Updates and Reflections on Feasibility
AbstractWe conducted a pilot randomized control trial (RCT) to simultaneously examine the feasibility of effectively implementing Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) for adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN) during medical hospitalization at a single-site hospital center. Employment of this protocol occurred on a general medical unit with diverse medical admitting diagnoses, not an eating disorder floor of a hospital and not part of a structured inpatient anorexia nervosa treatment program.
