Triple-compartment strategy for abdominal sacral colpopexy using PVDF mesh: one-year report of anatomical and subjective outcomes
ConclusionsOur short-term follow-up showed that using an open ASC technique with PVDF mesh in treating high-grade apical or uterine prolapse is associated with a high rate of procedural success and low rates of complication. (Source: International Urogynecology Journal)

Management of partial M üllerian agenesis: staged McIndoe procedure for the creation of a neovagina and utero-neovaginal unification
ConclusionIn conclusion, our approach should be considered a feasible option for anatomical restoration via the creation of a neovagina in patients with M üllerian anomalies, even in the presence of a functional uterus. (Source: International Urogynecology Journal)

Predictors and outcomes of surgical repair of obstetric fistula at Mekelle Hamlin Fistula Center, Northern Ethiopia
ConclusionFistula closure was achieved in 89.3% of cases. The success rate for VVF (vesico-vaginal fistula) and RVF (recto-vaginal fistula) surgical repair was 86.9% and 100% respectively, which is higher than the WHO target. Body mass index between 18.5 –24.9 kg/m2, formal education, antibiotic use, live birth, large fistula size, and home and cesarean delivery were predictors of successful closure of obstetric fistula. Comparison of the anterior pelvis and levator ani muscle on MRI in women with and without anterior pelvic organ prolapse
ConclusionsThe levator ani hiatus width and cervix length were larger in patients with anterior vaginal prolapse than in those without prolapse. An ischial ISD greater than 10.95  cm was associated with prolapse. (Source: International Urogynecology Journal)

Pessaries for pelvic organ prolapse in women with severe dementia: an ethical challenge

Impact of parity and delivery mode on pelvic floor function in young women: a 3D ultrasound evaluation
ConclusionsThree-dimensional ultrasound can identify mild morphological changes in young women with apparently normal physical examinations, mainly after VD and FD. In such individuals, these findings are associated with higher incidences of underreported sexual, urinary and anal symptoms. (Source: International Urogynecology Journal)

Cervical cancer after the Manchester procedure: a nationwide cohort study
ConclusionsWomen undergoing the Manchester procedure are at lower risk of being diagnosed with cervical cancer, while the risk of cancer specific mortality is unchanged compared to women undergoing anterior colporrhaphy. Based on this study, we cannot recommend that women exit ordinary screening programs for human papillomavirus/cervical dysplasia after a Manchester procedure. Evaluation of robotic-assisted sacrocolpopexy videos on YouTube
ConclusionOur study shows that the level of quality in YouTube videos associated with robotic-assisted sacrocolpopexy is at an acceptable and high level, but its reliability is low. Therefore, short and concise videos that contain accurate information and refer to scientific facts should be prepared by urogynecology associations. (Source: International Urogynecology Journal)

Determining health-related quality of life and health state utility values of recurrent urinary tract infections in women
ConclusionsOur data suggest that 0.85 reflects the true health state utility value of rUTIs among nonpregnant adult English-speaking women. The utility value for recurrent UTIs is worse (lower) than that previously published for nonrecurrent UTIs, reflecting the ability of the SG to convey the compounding impact of recurrent disease. In this study, neither the EQ-5D nor the VAS produced results consistent with those found using the SG, which suggests limited validity in this population.
