Discordance of Aqueous/Plasma HIV Replication on ART
CONCLUSION: This study provides a rationale for initiating ART early in the course of infection to reduce HIV VL in the aqueous humor, and raises the possibility of the ocular sanctuary where HIV replicates. Meanwhile, early and standard ART would be an optimal option to protect against ocular opportunistic infection.PMID:38151835 | DOI:10.2174/011570162X268730231212112119 (Source: Current HIV Research)

The Interrelationship Between HIV Infection and COVID-19: A Review of the Literature
Curr HIV Res. 2023 Dec 27. doi: 10.2174/011570162X282739231222062830. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic resulting from the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has led to significant morbidity and mortality in patients and put a strain on healthcare systems worldwide. The clinical characteristics and results of COVID-19 in immunosuppressed patients, such as people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLWH), considered at higher risk of severe disease, are not well-characterized. Accumulated evidence indicates that COVID-19 and the human immunodefici...
