A Multimodality Imaging Evaluation of Unilateral Breast Edema: It's Not Just Cancer
This article presents a review of the differential diagnosis and pathophysiology of benign and malignant, unilateral breast edema, including mammary, nonmammary, and systemic causes. Abnormal imaging findings related to unilateral breast edema have been described using multiple imaging modalities and a case-based approach. Accurate diagnosis of unilateral breast edema involves assessment of the clinical history, physical examination, and imaging studies. (Source: Contemporary Diagnostic Radiology)

What the Radiologist Needs to Know About Sinonasal Masses
Although malignancies in the sinonasal cavity comprise only 3% of all head and neck cancers and 1% of all malignancies,1 they are important disease entities to consider because of their nonspecific clinical presentation. There is considerable overlap of symptoms of sinonasal tumors with symptoms of the much more common rhinosinusitis. CT for rhinosinusitis symptoms is common in clinical practice and often ordered by primary care physicians who do not have the instruments to perform thorough endoscopic nasal examinations. Thus, the first physician to suggest the presence of a sinonasal lesion often is the general radiologis...

Lucent Lesions of Vertebral Body: Differential Diagnosis
Each vertebra has an anteriorly located body of cancellous bone, with a thin layer of surrounding cortical bone; and posterior elements, which are composed largely of cortical bone (pedicles, laminae, and spinous and transverse processes). The spinal canal is between these two components (Figure 1). Cancellous bone lesions often localize in the vertebral bodies, whereas cortical bone lesions preferentially affect the posterior elements. However, some bone lesions may show no preference for either of the two vertebral parts. (Source: Contemporary Diagnostic Radiology)

Imaging of Traumatic Injuries to the Male Lower Genitourinary Organs and Impact on Surgical Management
Genitourinary trauma occurs in 10% of all patients with abdominal trauma, and it is more common in men due to the external location of the male genital organs and longer length of the male urethra, which make them more susceptible to traumatic injuries.1 Concomitant injuries are not uncommon and may distract from or delay the diagnosis of genitourinary injuries, potentially leading to complications, loss of function, and irreversible damage.1 Radiologists play a key role in diagnosing male genitourinary injuries to expedite appropriate surgical management. Acute Pancreatitis: Radiologic Diagnosis and 2012 Revised Atlanta Classification
Acute pancreatitis is an acute inflammation of the pancreas with variable severity and prognosis depending on the presence of associated local or systemic complications. Acute pancreatitis is the leading gastrointestinal cause of hospitalization in the United States, and gallstones and alcohol abuse are the first and second most common causes of acute pancreatitis, respectively.1 Radiologists play a critical role in the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis and identification of its complications to guide treatment and intervention.
