A Diagnostic Approach to Various Fat-Containing Lesions in Thoracic Imaging
Fat-containing lesions may involve any compartment of the chest, and the differential diagnosis for these lesions primarily depends on location, imaging features, and patient demographics. Although many fat-containing lesions of the chest are benign, they may be manifestations of pathologic and malignant conditions. Therefore, interval growth of the lesions and any morphological changes of the adjacent structures over time also should be evaluated. (Source: Contemporary Diagnostic Radiology)

The Opioid Epidemic and the Role of Radiology: History, Current Status, Controversies, and Appropriately Managing Pain in the Image-Guided Procedural Arena
Because of the enormity of the opioid epidemic, it is critical for radiologists and radiology trainees to be aware of how patients who misuse opioids may present to the emergency department and the relevant imaging findings to impact patient care efficiently and effectively. Diagnostic and interventional radiologists who perform procedures and manage patients with procedural and postprocedural pain must have a keen, current knowledge of pain management strategies to minimize the risk of their patients developing opioid addiction. What the Radiologist Needs to Know About Breast Trauma
The breast is injured in a variety of circumstances, including direct trauma, such as from a motor vehicle accident, or iatrogenic, secondary to biopsy or intervention. The severity of reported breast injuries ranges from small hematomas to breast avulsion; the latter injury requires emergent mastectomy to stop active hemorrhage.1 The correlation of multimodality breast imaging with clinical presentation is important for differentiating benign posttraumatic abnormalities from malignant processes, thereby preventing unnecessary workup and intervention. Imaging in Acute Intestinal Obstruction
Acute intestinal obstruction is a common cause of morbidity in patients who present with an acute abdomen and accounts for 20% of admissions for “surgical abdomen.” Imaging is important in confirming the diagnosis and identifying the underlying cause. Safe and effective management depend on prompt and accurate diagnosis. Bowel obstruction is subdivided into small and large bowel obstruction, based on the site of luminal narrowing. The causative factors for the two subgroups are usually quite different. (Source: Contemporary Diagnostic Radiology)

Multiple Hereditary Exostoses: Genetics, Multimodality Imaging Features, Complications, Differential Diagnosis, and Treatment
Osteochondromas are a common type of benign bone tumor that occur during childhood. Osteochondromas can be solitary or multifocal as a part of a syndrome, known as multiple hereditary exostoses (MHE). This differentiation was first discovered in 1786 by John Hunter, a famous Scottish surgeon. In 1814, MHE was found to have a familial association. Later, in the 1900s, MHE was differentiated from other disorders, such as Ollier disease (multiple enchondromatosis) and Trevor disease (dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelica). MHE is known by other names including hereditary multiple osteochondromas, diaphyseal aclasis, hereditary de...

Overview of Ground-Glass Opacity on CT: A Must for the Diagnostic Radiologist
The objectives of this article are to discuss the etiopathogenesis and characteristic CT imaging appearance of ground-glass opacity; suggest and review methods to classify ground-glass opacity based on distribution, acuity, and cause (to provide the most concise differential diagnosis); and provide an overview of the more frequently encountered and well-known causes of ground-glass opacity in daily radiologic practice.
