Diagnostic Accuracy of Epilepsy-dedicated MRI with Post-processing
ConclusionThe proposed MRI protocol is highly accurate. No hippocampal sclerosis/gliosis only lesions are typically MRI negative. Small MRI positive FCD can be histopathologically missed, most likely due to sampling errors resulting from insufficient harvesting of tissue. (Source: Clinical Neuroradiology)

First-Pass Effect in M1-Occlusion Stroke Patients Treated with Combined Stent-Retriever/Large-Bore Distal Aspiration Catheter Thrombectomy
ConclusionOur results suggest that in combined LB-DAC/stent-retriever thrombectomy, a  larger aspiration catheter inner diameter is associated with higher rates of FPE and mFPE. (Source: Clinical Neuroradiology)

Angiographic Index for the Treatment Efficacy and Functional Outcomes of Spinal Cord Arteriovenous Shunts: the Vertebral Blush Sign
ConclusionThe VB sign is independently associated with functional recovery after shunt occlusion and could be an assessment tool for the treatment efficacy of SCAVSs. (Source: Clinical Neuroradiology)

Blood Flow Velocity: a  Decision Tool for Stenting Indication in Venous Pulsatile Tinnitus
ConclusionMeasurement of sinus blood flow velocity provides a  hemodynamic explanation of disease and may be a better tool than pressure gradient for the indication of stenting in VPT. (Source: Clinical Neuroradiology)

Preoperative Embolization of Meningiomas Facilitates Reduced Surgical Complications and Improved Clinical Outcomes
ConclusionFor certain meningiomas, PE facilitates lower overall complications, lower major surgical complications, and improved functional independence. Further research is required to identify the particular subset of meningiomas that benefit from PE. (Source: Clinical Neuroradiology)

Combined Conduit Score in Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Venography in Patients with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension
ConclusionDespite the excellent agreement between the neuro-interventionists and the good agreement between the radiologists, there was no agreement between the neuro-interventionists and the radiologists. Our finding suggests that there is a  gap between the 2 specialties but does not favor any of them. Factors related to the observers, the venous sinus system, the MRV or the CCS score may have resulted in this discrepancy. Automatic or semi-automatic feature extractions to produce quantifiable biomarkers for IIH are warranted. The cli nical decisions should not depend only on strongly observer-dependent scores with trai...

Thrombectomy of Mild Stroke
ConclusionThe FO in patients with mild stroke undergoing MT was associated with successful recanalization. No significant differences between patients with FO and UO were found for MT-related adverse events, suggesting that MT complications have no significant effects on the outcome of these patients. MT might improve the prognosis also in patients with mild stroke based on distal vessel occlusions without significantly increasing the risk of adverse events. (Source: Clinical Neuroradiology)

Benefit of Advanced 3D DSA and MRI/CT Fusion in Neurovascular Pathology
AbstractDigital subtraction angiography provides excellent spatial and temporal resolution; however, it lacks the capability to depict the nonvascular anatomy of the brain and spinal cord.A  review of the institutional database identified five patients in whom a new integrated fusion workflow of cross-sectional imaging and 3D rotational angiography (3DRA) provided important diagnostic information and assisted in treatment planning. These included two acutely ruptured brain arterioven ous malformations (AVM), a small superficial brainstem AVM after radiosurgery, a thalamic microaneurysm, and a spine AVM, and fusion was...
