Responsiveness of UMSARS and other clinical measures in a longitudinal structured care clinic for multiple system atrophy
ConclusionsData from a longitudinal MSA clinic allows better characterization of the performance of UMSARS as a clinical outcome measure. A curated set of UMSARS questions appears more responsive to change and accounts for correlation with QOL, and could be the starting point for an improved MSA outcome measure. Consensus statement on the definition of orthostatic hypertension endorsed by the American Autonomic Society and the Japanese Society of Hypertension
AbstractWe propose a consensus definition of “an exaggerated orthostatic pressor response” in subjects in whom systolic blood pressure increases ≥ 20 mmHg when going from supine to standing posture. This definition can be extended for seated to standing measurements. We reserve the term “orthostatic hypertension” for when this p ressor response leads to an upright systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg. We believe this consensus definition will help in the study of the pathophysiology, clinical impact, and potential treatment of these entities, and identification of patients who are at greater cardiovascu...

Association of electrochemical skin conductance with neuropathy in chemotherapy-treated patients
ConclusionsThe inability of ESC values via Sudoscan to predict clinically-graded and patient-reported CIPN or autonomic dysfunction questions its clinical utility for chemotherapy-treated patients. The understanding of autonomic neuropathy with chemotherapy treatment remains limited and must be addressed to improve quality of life in cancer survivors. (Source: Clinical Autonomic Research)
