Clinicopathological analysis of 38 male patients diagnosed with breast cancer
CONCLUSIONS: According to our cohort, MBC is seen in older males, presents in later stages, and shows hormone receptor positivity and a tendency to bone involvement. MBC is a heterogenous but distinct biological entity requiring a specific clinical and pathological approach.PMID:38363600 | DOI:10.3233/BD-230050 (Source: Breast Disease)

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on breast cancer pathological stage at diagnosis in Tunisian patients
CONCLUSION: Our findings proved an increase in alarming rates of advanced stage BC associated with the COVID-19 crisis. These findings support recommendations for a quick restoration of BC screening at full capacity, with adequate prioritization strategies to mitigate harm.PMID:38363601 | DOI:10.3233/BD-230051 (Source: Breast Disease)

Expression and promoter methylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 in tumor and marginal cells of breast cancer
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that while MAPK1 expression, might be a promising biomarker for evaluating oncogenic activity in patients suspected of BCa. We were not able to detect a prognostic/diagnostic role for MAPK1 promoter methylation.PMID:38143331 | DOI:10.3233/BD-230001 (Source: Breast Disease)

P53 expression correlates with low axillary tumor burden in breast cancer
CONCLUSION: p53+ breast cancers were associated with worse overall survival. However, low ATB was more common in these tumors than in p53- tumors in the luminal B-Her2-negative subtype. Information on p53 expression could be of use to predict ATB in some breast cancer tumors.PMID:38143332 | DOI:10.3233/BD-230013 (Source: Breast Disease)

Course of objectively measured physical activity and sleep in postmenopausal breast cancer survivors during the COVID-19 pandemic: A 1-year follow-up
CONCLUSIONS: Low levels of PA with mostly light intensity, and adequate sleep efficiency and duration were observed before COVID in PMBC survivors. This was not further affected by COVID-19 governmental measures.PMID:38143333 | PMC:PMC10836571 | DOI:10.3233/BD-230049 (Source: Breast Disease)
