Epidermal growth factor: Expression in goat endometrial epithelia during early pregnancy and regulation by interferon tau and FOXO1
In this study, we examined the spatiotemporal expression profile of EGF in goat uterus during early pregnancy (Day 0 to Day 50 of pregnancy) and verified that EGF expression was regulated by FOXO1 and interferon tau (IFNT). Our results showed that EGF was highly expressed in the luminal epithelium (LE) and the glandular epithelium (GE) during conceptus adhesion (Day 16 to Day 25 of pregnancy). After implantation, EGF protein signals were continuously detected in the endometrial epithelia and appeared in the conceptus trophectoderm. Furthermore, EGF expression could be up-regulated by IFNT in goat uterus and primary endomet...

Luteal tissue characteristics of Morada Nova ewes with hCG application 7.5 days after the end of estrus synchronization protocol in the breeding season
Anim Reprod Sci. 2023 Dec 14;261:107396. doi: 10.1016/j.anireprosci.2023.107396. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTResults with the use of hCG after synchronization protocol are still inconsistent, which may vary according to breed, season, day of application and dose of the drug used. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the functionality of luteal tissue and ovarian perfusion after hCG treatment during early luteal phase. Estrus-synchronized ewes were randomly assigned to receive i.m. injection of 300 IU of hCG (G-hCG; n = 40) or 1 mL of saline (G-Control; n = 32) on Day 7.5 after progesterone withdrawal. Ultrasonogr...

Effect of follicular wave synchronization using a progesterone-releasing intravaginal device-based protocol on in vitro embryo production in Bos taurus cows subjected to 14-day intervals ovum pick-up
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of FWS on the total follicular number, cumulus-oocyte complex (COC) recovery, and in vitro embryo development in Angus cows (n = 33) subjected to OPU with 14-day intersession intervals. Additionally, it was also evaluated the presence of carryover effects given the short intersession interval used. The experiment was run as a 2-treatment (FWS vs. Control) x 2-period (1 vs. 2) crossover design. Animals in the FWS group received an intravaginal progesterone implant (1gr), estradiol benzoate (2 mg), and D-cloprostenol (150 μg) on day 0 and the OPU was performed on day 5. Control group ...

Evaluation of a long-acting recombinant bovine FSH for multiple ovulation and embryo transfer in dromedary camels
In conclusion, a single IM administration of 100 µg rbFSH induces a successful superovulation in dromedary camels and has the advantage of reducing stress associated with multiple FSH administration of the conventional protocols.PMID:38128190 | DOI:10.1016/j.anireprosci.2023.107398 (Source: Animal Reproduction Science)
