Genome-wide Epigenetic Study of Chronic Rhinosinusitis Tissues Reveals Dysregulated Inflammatory, Immunologic and Remodeling Pathways
CONCLUSIONS: Differential patterns of methylation were identified between controls and CRS, CRSwNP, and CRSsNP. Epigenetic, environmentally-induced changes related to novel, inflammatory, immunologic, and remodeling pathways appear to affect epithelial integrity, cell proliferation, homeostasis, vascular permeability, and other yet uncharacterized pathways and genes.PMID:37584357 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231193526 (Source: American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy)

Efficacy of Sublingual Immunotherapy in Allergic Rhinitis Patients with Asthma: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: SLIT may be a therapeutic method for improving rhinitis symptoms and asthma symptoms in AR patients with asthma. However, as there was significant heterogeneity in results, more high-quality and well-designed studies are needed in the future to elucidate the efficacy of SLIT.PMID:37559376 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231193528 (Source: American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy)

Predictors of Prolonged Length of Stay After Pituitary Adenoma Resection: A Large Cohort Analysis Using the National Inpatient Sample (2016-2019)
CONCLUSIONS: Black and Hispanic patients, patients with Medicaid insurance, and patients of low socioeconomic status patients are at significantly higher risk of emergent PA resection and PLOS. Efforts to prevent emergent surgeries and shorten hospitalization after pituitary surgery may need to primarily focus on patient groups with select sociodemographic characteristics.PMID:37550993 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231193527 (Source: American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy)

TSLP Induces Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition in Nasal Epithelial Cells From Allergic Rhinitis Patients Through TGF- β1/Smad2/3 Signaling
CONCLUSION: TSLP-induced HNECs to undergo the EMT process via TGF-β1-mediated Smad2/3 activation. TSLP is an activator of the EMT in HNECs and might be a potential target for inhibiting EMT and reducing airway remodeling in AR.PMID:37537875 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231193154 (Source: American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy)
