Rural and Urban Differences in Hypertension Management Through Telehealth Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic Among Commercially Insured Patients
CONCLUSIONS: Data show that rural residents were less likely to use telehealth for hypertension management. Understanding trends in hypertension-related telehealth utilization can highlight disparities in the sustained use of telehealth to advance accessible health care.PMID:37772661 | DOI:10.1093/ajh/hpad093 (Source: American Journal of Hypertension)

Potassium and Hypertension: A State-of-the-Art Review
Am J Hypertens. 2023 Sep 29:hpad094. doi: 10.1093/ajh/hpad094. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHypertension is the single most important and modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality worldwide. Non pharmacologic interventions, in particular dietary modifications have been established to decrease blood pressure and hypertension related adverse cardiovascular events. Among those dietary modifications, sodium intake restriction dominates guidelines from professional organizations and has garnered the greatest attention from the mainstream media. Despite guidelines and media exhortations, dietary sodium i...

Association of pulse pressure fluctuation during hospitalization with adverse outcomes within 3 months after ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: Large PP fluctuation during hospitalization was associated with increased risks of adverse outcomes within 3 months after ischemic stroke, which provided valuable new insight for BP management in the acute phase of ischemic stroke. Controlling PP fluctuation may be contributing to improving prognosis after ischemic stroke.PMID:37767792 | DOI:10.1093/ajh/hpad085 (Source: American Journal of Hypertension)
