Treatment with adult glottic stenosis using CO < sub > 2 < /sub > laser surgery combined with self-made laryngeal dilator
Conclusions and significance: It is demonstrated that the application of CO2 laser surgery combined with a laryngeal self-made dilator is feasible and effective for the treatment with adult glottic stenosis.PMID:37975840 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2276884 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Did our cochlear implant program make any difference in the lives of our patients? Achievements of 30 patients with long term follow-up averaging 20 years after cochlear implantation
CONCLUSIONS: We made a difference in the lives of these patients, however, there is more to be done.SIGNIFICANCE: Early intervention, rehabilitation, plus family, and stimulating-environment are crucial in children with sensory deficits.PMID:37975845 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2277568 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Immunohistochemical localization of CD31, CD34, and periostin in vocal fold polyps
CONCLUSION AND SIGNIFICANCE: In vocal fold polyps, evaluation of vascular endothelial markers may be useful for staging.PMID:37902571 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2263483 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

The effect of dexamethasone on functional pain following Transoral Robotic Surgery: a randomized double blinded clinical trial
CONCLUSION: There were no differences in the pain intensity in the two treatment groups allocated to a basic multimodal analgesic package and either high-dose dexamethasone or low-dose dexamethasone treatment. The trial is the first RCT to include pain measurement during a procedure-relevant activity, thus creating a platform for future recovery studies.PMID:37902607 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2269998 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Evaluation of vestibular functions in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome
CONCLUSION AND SIGNIFICANCE: It was concluded that vestibular reflexes and proprioceptive perception were affected due to periodic/chronic hypoxia in patients with moderate and severe OSAS.PMID:37902611 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2269255 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)
