New strategies and methods for reconstruction of the outer ear canal (OEC)
Conclusions and Significance: The best result is found in overlapping the splicing thin sectional skin of the temporal scalp, combined with artificial drum ring implantation, effective support of postoperative model stent of OEC and post-pubertal surgery selection are new and effective strategies and methods to prevent re-stenosis or re-atresia of r-OEC. Atresia or stenosis of the OEC before the operation is the influence factor of the postoperative effect.PMID:38063357 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2275610 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Vestibular function in children with vestibulocochlear nerve aplasia/hypoplasia
CONCLUSION: Canal function may represent a predictor of auditive pathway integrity with a possible favourable audiological outcome after CI operation.SIGNIFICANCE: Our results demonstrate high vestibular response rates suggesting a functioning pathway despite the radiological diagnosis.PMID:38063358 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2285453 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Congruence and incongruence on the radiological and functional examination of inner ear hemorrhage
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with SNHL inner ear hemorrhage needs to be ruled out in the differential diagnosis, so specific MRI sequences should be requested. It represents a way to a better understanding of the disorder and the variety of findings claim for a complete auditory and vestibular testing.PMID:38059470 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2286494 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Effect of intralymphatic allergen-specific immunotherapy on house dust mite in a murine model of allergic rhinitis
CONCLUSIONS AND SIGNIFICANCE: Our results suggest that ILIT regulates the specific immunotherapy immunologic mechanism by downregulating Th1, Th2, and Th17 cytokines and upregulating FoxP3(+) T reg cells in the HDM allergic mouse model.PMID:38059621 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2273405 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)

Long-term effects of middle ear pressure therapy with the EFET01 device in patients with M énière's disease and delayed endolymphatic hydrops in Japan
CONCLUSION: Our study clarified that MEPT with the EFET01 device was effective in controlling vertigo symptoms of MD and DEH. It should be considered a safe option for patients failing medical treatment.SIGNIFICANCE: The efficacy of MEPT with the EFET01 was shown over a 2-year follow-up period.PMID:37995205 | DOI:10.1080/00016489.2023.2284336 (Source: Acta Oto-Laryngologica)
