Success of Pregnancy in a Patient on High-Volume Hemodiafiltration with Citrate-Acidified Dialysate
Although pregnancy in dialysis patients is rare, recent reports in the literature have shown improvement in pregnancy outcome in this population. Increasing doses of dialysis have led to improvement in fetal prognosis, but recommendations are still lacking, and there are few documented reports of pregnant woman on high-volume online hemodiafiltration. Here, we report the first successful pregnancy in a 28-year-old patient on daily high-volume online post-dilution hemodiafiltration with a citrate dialysate. At 37 weeks and 1 day, she delivered a healthy 2.3 kg baby that did not require neonatal intensive care. This case rep...

Skeletal muscle changes in older patients undergoing online hemodiafiltration
Skeletal muscle mass (SMM) and function are negatively affected in chronic kidney disease (CKD). SMM and the assessment of muscle strength and functionality are indicators of clinical and nutritional status. We aimed to evaluate older patients undergoing online hemodiafiltration (OL-HDF), using muscle ultrasound (US) to monitor the SMM, correlating findings with strength and physical performance. Clinical outcome of intraoperative hemodialysis using a hemoconcentrator during cardiopulmonary bypass for dialysis-dependent patients
ConclusionsGHDF removed both potassium and uremic toxins more efficiently than DUF in dialysis-dependent patients. Less catecholamine was needed to wean CPB using GHDF. It improved the immediate postoperative respiratory function and enabled earlier extubation. GHDF is a novel and effective option for intraoperative RRT in dialysis-dependent patients undergoing open-heart surgery. (Source: General Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery)

Ceftaroline and Avibactam Removal by Continuous Renal Replacement Therapies: An in vitro Study
Discussion: Avibactam and ceftaroline are extensively removed through the polysulfone membrane, and a dose adjustment may be recommended for patients under CRRT to ensure pharmacodynamic target achievement.Blood Purif (Source: Blood Purification)
