SA7 A Systematic Literature Review to Assess the Level of Evidence in Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy
Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is a rare, debilitating disease for which there are no approved pharmacological interventions. As the disease progresses, patients lose upper limb function and mobility, which results in a decrease in the ability to perform activities of daily living and independence; patients often live with chronic pain. This systematic literature review assessed the existing evidence base regarding clinical, economic and humanistic outcomes in FSHD. (Source: Value in Health)

Molecular therapies: present and future in neuromuscular diseases
CONCLUSION: Clinical research in the field of molecular therapy of neuromuscular diseases is one of the pacesetters of modern precision medicine; however, challenges need to be seen, jointly addressed and overcome in the future.PMID:37221259 | DOI:10.1007/s00115-023-01495-3 (Source: Der Nervenarzt)

Test-retest reliability of three life balance measures in people with neuromuscular disease: the activity card sort-NL, the activity calculator, and the occupational balance questionnaire
Conclusion: All three tools showed good to excellent test-retest reliability in a sample of patients with FSHD or MM, which is promising for its use in clinical practice and research.PMID:37212794 | DOI:10.1080/09638288.2023.2213482 (Source: Disability and Rehabilitation)

The facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy - health index: Italian validation of a disease-specific measure of symptomatic burden
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, the Italian FSHD-HI is a valid and well-suited measurement of the multi-dimensional aspects of disease burden in FSHD patients.PMID:37194629 | DOI:10.1080/09638288.2023.2212181 (Source: Disability and Rehabilitation)
