MD Low GPA and unknown MCAT score...
Hi,
I'm hoping to apply to med school (MD) in the near future, but I have a bit of a dilemma...I have a low GPA (2.76) and I will find out my MCAT score in 3 days. I've been thinking about doing a post-bac and doing well in those classes to better my chances of getting into those MD schools. Here are some of my other stats:
3 years of research at the UCI School of Medicine (3 abstracts and 1 paper published)
2 years of hospital volunteering at Hoag hospital in Newport Beach (300+ hours)
1.5 years of working as an Emergency Medical Technician for an ambulance company
2 years of volunteering at American Red Cross

Would I be ready to take the 2014 MCAT?
I'm an incoming sophomore but I have nearly all of my Pre-med course work done other than organic chem 1 and 2.

Advice on which SMP to choose.. LMU-DCOM or USC-South Carolina
Hi everyone, I am looking at two different SMP's and wondering which would be the best for me, given my stats, to gain admission to a D.O/M.D. program starting Fall 2014. First I will present my stats and then the programs I am looking at. I'm 24 with a B.S. in Biology. My overall GPA is a 3.25 and my science GPA is a 3.11. I have done 350 hrs shadowing physicians with 2 LOR (one MD and one DO) and 150 hrs volunteering in the ED. 2013 PharmD Interview for Western Univ of Health Sciences
Hellow! I finally got an interview at Western U (seriously after about 4 or 5 years of trying). It'll be in exactly 10 days from now. I'm a bit nervous. I don't know what to expect. I read their prospective student/interviewee webpage as they suggested. It says that there will be 3 people in the panel and that the questions are behavioral-based as opposed to academic. One thing I'm iffy about is whether or not I should steer away from mentioning that I am married with four children. I feel like this will go against me because the interview is their chance to find a student that will fit their hectic curriculum.
