Clinical accuracy of Alinity m HR HPV assay on self- versus clinician-taken samples using the VALHUDES protocol
In this study, we evaluated clinical performance of Alinity m HR HPV assay (Alinity) in a colposcopy referral population. Home-collected FVU (Colli-Pee FV 5020) one day before colposcopy (n=492), at-clinic collected dry VSS (multi-Collect Swab [mC; n=493], followed by Evalyn Brush [EB; n=233] or Qvintip [QT; n=260]) and matched CCS were available for the study. Safety and efficacy of topical artesunate for the treatment of vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia 2/3
CONCLUSIONS: Topical artesunate for treatment of high-grade VIN shows high tolerability, low toxicity and evidence for clinical response in this initial small series. The safety and observed responses support further study in a Phase II trial.PMID:37839312 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2023.10.003 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)

Registry Study of the Working Group on Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (AGCPC) on the Diagnostic Algorithm for the New Cervical Cancer Screening - Initial Data
DISCUSSION: In a synopsis of the present findings of our initial data of the registry study on the new cervical cancer screening, according to the organized early cancer screening guideline (oKFE-RL), we could show that the target lesion CIN 3+ and AIS is detected unexpectedly frequently in a not insignificant proportion, especially in the cytological low-risk group. Currently, we cannot answer whether this can reduce the incidence and mortality of cervical carcinoma, but this could be an initial indication of this and will be reviewed in further long-term evaluations.PMID:37808262 | PMC:PMC10556876 | DOI:10.1055/a-2159-75...

Loop Excision for Precancers of the Uterine Cervix: Local or General Anaesthetic?
CONCLUSION: Following loop excision under local anaesthesia, more than 95% of patients would choose this method again for repeat surgery. One year post surgery, 97% of the patients were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the treatment under local anaesthesia. Offering local anaesthesia for loop excision to patients should be mandatory and included in current guidelines.PMID:37808260 | PMC:PMC10556877 | DOI:10.1055/a-2150-0835 (Source: Geburtshilfe und Frauenheilkunde)
