Any non-trad current med students I could talk to?
Hi y’all. So I took the MCAT in May and underperformed substantially relative to my target. This plus some planned PTO from work really shook loose a lot of my commitment to this path given my age and interests. I know this can be a personal question, but I’ve tried reading books, blogs, podcasts and parents and I still struggle with my thoughts on it now. I view this time as critical so I can either revamp my studying for the next MCAT and cycle, or gifs up the ghost entirely and pursue... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Why is SDN hosting a BeMo webinar?
As I said in this thread: I'd seriously avoid BeMo, they charge ~$3,000 for their most popular CASPer prep course, and write cope-and-seethe blog posts against premed101 and r/premed, which are free resources that anyone with a healthy dose of personal vigilance can navigate. Here are some quotes from premedditors' opinions regarding BeMo: had to ban them and report them to admins after strong suspicion of report abuse on posts that dared speak... Click to expand... Is the general advice to omit any social media from your activities?
I think the answer is going to be yes, avoid any mention of social media but it does make me a bit sad to omit such a big part of my life. With technology being so integrated into our lives I'm sure many students apply who run blogs, YouTube channels, etc and these things are significant parts of their lives. Is the recommendation in general to pretend these activities don't exist? Personally, I moderate some forums related to subjects like weight loss as well as engage in some local... Is being a dentist really that bad?
https://bloggerdds.weebly.com/blog/dentistry-sucks This post makes it seem like being a dentist is horrible. The the points that scare me the most are the financials. Do you really only make $100,000? I don’t particularly plan to open a practice, and I will be going to a dental school that is going to cost me roughly $220,000 - $250,000 in loans total. I plan to practice in Florida. What do you guys think of the bloggers opinions in the linked post? Do associate dentists really only... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
