Questions about day-to-day EP life
For those who are EP, especially those in the community and outside of big academic centers: what do your procedure days look like? I.e what is the relative proportion of devices vs atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter ablations, vs SVT ablation vs EP studies, vs VT ablations etc? Over the course of a typical week how many devices/ablations do you do? How late are procedure days?
Also for those who are EP: do you read any echos or nuclear scans? As an EP, is there any value in being echo...

Effectiveness and Safety of Direct Oral Anticoagulants Versus Warfarin in Patients With Valvular Atrial Fibrillation

Another case discussion for the experts here on this forum. 75 year old with atrial fibrillation on Eliquis, brought in with fractured hip. Orthopedic surgery books the procedure 3 days later (unclear why delayed) for hemiarthroplasty. Labs are fairly OK, nothing absurd. Hct 28, On TTE 1 day ago, there is large pericardial effusion (unknown etiology) with evidence of right atrial collapse, right ventricle inversion, respiratory variations.
