Multisystem infections caused by community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in an immunocompetent patient

We describe a case of multisystem community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection in an immunocompetent patient, whose clinical manifestations were versatile. The patient showed a delayed response to vancomycin during the initial vancomycin regimen and was successfully treated after a 6-week course of linezolid combined with trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole.
