Combination of QCT and blood biochemistry for evaluating the relationship between nutrition and bone mineral density in patients on maintenance hemodialysis

Whether there is relationship between nutritional factors and osteoporosis in patients on maintenance hemodialysis is unclear. We provide evidence to show an association between low albumin levels and the presence of osteoporosis in these patients. Abdominal fat and muscle mass have different effects on bone mineral density in these patients.
