CONCLUSION: Thus, female sex and self-reported symptoms of central sensitization were considered risk factors for the onset of pain in adolescents but should be further explored in future studies.IMPACT: Considering the increasing prevalence of chronic musculoskeletal pain in adolescents, understanding the factors that may be associated with its new onset may help to better target the intervention strategies and, thus, minimize the appearance of this type of pain in adolescents.PMID:34939105 | DOI:10.1093/ptj/pzab286
