Targeting brain metastases in breast cancer
Metastatic breast cancer (BC) is, after lung cancer, the second most common cancer associated with brain metastases (BMs) [1]. As cancer research breakthroughs considerably improved survival of patients with advanced stage BC in the last decades, the incidence of BMs is increasing accordingly [2].
