Office Hysteroscopic Morcellation Service: Evaluation of Women Experience and Factors Affecting Satisfaction

Endometrial polyps and/or submucous fibroids (SMF) are found in up to 30% of pre- and postmenopausal women presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding [1,2]. The conventional resectoscopy is highly effective for resection; however, it requires general anesthesia (GA) in theatre and the tissue fragments have to be removed manually which adds to the operating times [3]. In the last decade, the hysteroscopic morcellation technology, utilizing an irrigation and suction system for simultaneous resection and removal of tissues, was introduced as an alternative that can be performed in the office-setting [4,5].
