Concordance between sudomotor disorder and the clinical diagnosis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, according to various clinical guidelines

In 2017, according to the International Diabetes Federation, 425 million people worldwide, or 8.8% of all adults aged 20 –79 years, were living with diabetes mellitus (DM), about four times more than in 1980. Regrettably, this figure is expected to increase to about 642 million by 2040 [1]. DM is the seventh leading cause of death and provokes many debilitating, detrimental consequences, including organ failure, hea rt disease, stroke, blindness and lower-extremity amputations [2].
