Coronary computed tomography angiography radiomics: A potential noninvasive tool for detecting myocardial fibrosis
Myocardial fibrosis (MF) is a common histopathological change observed in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) [1]. Currently, cardiac late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is the noninvasive gold standard for the identification and quantification of MF [2]. The extent of MF as detected by LGE is an independent prognostic factor for hard events including all-cause mortality, future hospitalization, and sudden cardiac death [2,3]. However, cardiac MR (CMR) is not available for some patients who have a contraindication to CMR such as the placement of implantable cardioverter defibrillators and claustrophobia.
