Kenya: Kenya Doesn't Have a Stand-Alone Tax On Sugary Drinks - We Set Out to Find Out Why

[The Conversation Africa] Kenya is experiencing a rise in obesity. Overweight and obesity among women increased from 25% in 2008 to 33% in 2014. An estimated one in four Kenyan urban children are overweight or obese. At the same time there has been a rise in associated noncommunicable diseases. These include diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Noncommunicable diseases now account for over 50% of hospital admissions in the country.
