Mesonephric (Wolffian-derived) Adenocarcinoma of the Female Urethra

In conclusion, MA, similar to those occurring in the female genital tract and distinct from the recognized Müllerian-derived carcinomas, may present primarily as urethral tumors. MA in the urethra probably shares a common pathogenesis with vaginal MA as both may originate from the same caudal loci of mesonephric remnants along the closely apposed anterior vaginal and posterior urethral walls. MA should be considered in future classifications for urethral tumors and we recommend that the confusing term “mesonephroid adenocarcinoma” should no longer be used.
