Do adult patients with diabetes mellitus living in rural part of Ethiopia and having poor social support have disproportionately poor self-care practice? A systematic review and meta-analysis

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic chaos of glucose homeostasis that linked with short and long-term vascular and nonvascular complications leading to other chronic illnesses and death [1 –3]. It’s the rapid mounting of non-communicable disease throughout the world [4,5]. DM characterized by hyperglycemia attributed to poor performance of anabolic hormone (insulin), which regulates the body’s ability to metabolize and uptake glucose to generate energy [6–8]. Its extent has re ached epidemic; the World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that developing countries will bear the brunt of this epidemic by the 21st century [9].
